Cued Clips & Links
Hi,

Am another "Church" user, attracted to Screen Monkey for its PowerPoint and video display abilities. We currently use Open Song for songs, hymns, etc.

The program is easy and intuitive, which is great, with one exception - linking cued video clips.

For example, say I have Clip 1, which is 30 seconds of a 5 minute AVI file and Clip 2 which is 40 seconds of a 10 minute AVI file:

When I try and link these clips using "at end" the clips play to the actual end of the AVI, not the cued end of the clip - which I guess is logical.

I have tried un-selecting the "at end" and using the "none" choice to select the following clip, which causes just the cued clip to play but then it just stops.

How do I link such clips, so that the second clip starts automatically after the first finishes?

Also, any idea what the "COM+ error ......" is about?

Thanks,

Geoff.

Re: Cued Clips & Links
Hi

It is good to hear you like the program and find it easy to use :-)

I think it may be a bug with V3 that means that if you set link to "at end" of a cued video it does not link when the end of the cued section is reached. This has been fixed in the next version which should be out soon.

I am assuming that normally the cued section plays correctly and stops at the correct point. If not you might not have locked the cued section using the padlock button. When it is not locked it plays the original video all the way through.

To achieve what you want you do need to select "at end" and once you get V3.1 this should work as you wish.

The COM+ error you are seeing with Power Point is just an error saying that Power Point is busy and that Screen Monkey needs to wait. I think you may also get the same error with Video. It is nothing to worry about as the software will simply wait and try again later. The error is logged though as excessive amounts of this error can indicate problems with your system.

Hope that helps, if you have any further questions, please get in touch!
