Great news that you got it working :-)

I suspect that the problem was caused by another program trying to read from the same device. Each MIDI device can only have one application reading from it at any one time. If application was reading from the first device then the MIDI module in Screen Monkey will not load.

It should handle this eventuality slightly better though.

Re: MIDI
I've been playing around a bit more with the MIDI, and it seems indeed it only allows the first MIDI device to be used.

So, i tried uninstalling my virtual MIDI cables, so I just had one MIDI device. I can get this to control the assignments I had previously set.

However, when i now press a note to assign a new key, it doesn't come up in the 'last trigger' section. I tried copying the settings from a known working assignment, and changing the note value, but pressing the notes did not activate the clips. Also, it appears I got rid of one of the assignments, and am not sure how to get it back without the 'last trigger' feature.

Any ideas?

P.S. Just noticed - whenever i press a key, whether or not it activates a clip, I get this error:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Re: MIDI
Sorry it appears I have neglected this thread!

The problem of not supporting multiple MIDI devices is something I have now fixed and will be changed in the next release.

It appears that something has gone wrong with your settings file. I would recomend starting from scratch by selecting the new document icon and re-starting the software. Hopefully the last MIDI trigger will come back then try loading the settings file in.

If you still have problems then give me a description of exactly what you are doing, also email me your settings file and event log to support@screenmonkey.co.uk.

OK, I did this, and the problem was solved.
Thanks.
