iTunes does not use DirectX to playback audio files, it has its own built in decoder.

I have managed to get the file to play on another computer and another user has also told me that he can play it. That kind of confirms that it is a decoder problem. I am going to have another try tomorrow to see if I can find out what decoders are required.

The user who got it working had uninstalled the k-lite codec pack and was using the Vista Codec pack. This worked for him but when I tried it, this did not work. You may however have more success.

That file works with Screen Monkey on a Windows XP computer that I have that has Vista Codec Pack installed.

It does not work on a Windows Vista computer that also has Vista Codec Pack installed.

After downloading the Vista Codec for XP and using Switch, Screen moneky fired right up and was given me audio. Hope that helps.
