Re: Starts to run up then get error
I'm getting the same message with Win XP SP3.  I've installed, uninstalled and then re-installed the Net framework v 3 and 3.5 several times and it makes no difference.  I don't have a settings file and Screenmonkey appears to stop running before it has a chance to generate a log file.  The previous versions of Screenmonkey have run without andy problems.  Any ideas?

Re: Starts to run up then get error
Can you have a look in the Windows event log under applicaations and see if there is anything relatting to Screen Monkey. Also if you have any plugins installed it may be worth you uninstalling these first and then updatting them from the latest on the plugin downloads page.

Re: Starts to run up then get error
Thanks - sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to make any progress.  I've removed all the plugins I could find, with no effect - in fact I've uninstalled ScreenMonkey 3.1 and then deleted the folder and remaining files before doing a clean re-install but with no success at getting it to run.  There's no mention of Screenmonkey in any log files that I can find apart from the error report that XP wants to send to Microsoft.  It's very long and I can't find any way to print it out or copy it, but it starts as follows:

"EventType: clr20r3 P1 screenmonkey.exe P2:3.1.0.39865
P3: 489b8f24     P4: screenmonkey  P5: 3.1.0.39865  P6 489b8f24
P7 : 2d  P8 c6  P0 system.invalidoperation exception"

At present I've re-installed Screenmonkey v2, which runs without any problem.

Re: Starts to run up then get error
Problem solved!  At some time I must have set the graphics hardware acceleration to 'None' (although I can't remember why or when).  Resetting this to 'Full' removed the error message and ScreenMonkey 3.1 now runs perfectly.  Congratulations Olie on the new features - and I hope you haven't spent as many fruitless hours as I have in trying to solve the problem I reported!

Re: Starts to run up then get error
That is great news! I am so glad you have finally got it running.

I am not quite sure why this would stop Screen Monkey from running in the first place. I may investigate this and try and stop this happening in the future.

Enjoy version 3.1.
