Olie,

I'm not sure what happened to my previous thread, but it's gone for some reason. I hope it's nothing personal.

Anyway, I did some more testing with the Blackmagic card with both beta 14 and 16. Here are the results:

Beta 14

Primary Monitor 50% - Normal amount of interlacing

Primary Monitor Fullscreen - Almost perfect - just a slight bit of interlacing

Secondary Monitor 50% & Fullscreen - Normal amount of interlacing (on both my projector and an LCD monitor)

Beta 16

Primary Monitor 50% and Fullscreen - Normal amount of interlacing

Secondary Monitor 50% and Fullscreen - Extreme amount of interlacing (wavy) at 1024 x 768 (on both projector and LCD monitor), but normal interlacing at 1280 x 1024 (on monitor only)

My projector's native resolution is 1024 x 768 so I always set it at that. The LCD monitor's native resolutions was 1280 x 1024.

That's what I found - hope it helps you out.

Nothing personal, seems to be an error in the CMS. It has not been deleted just has got corrupted. Will upgrade the CMS and see if that fixes it.

I will get a capture card that I know interlaces tomorrow so hopefully can get to the bottom of it.

Whew, glad to know that you haven't written me off as the guy who keeps asking for new features! I'll stay true to form and ask one more thing.

Would it be possible for Screen Monkey to crop down the 16:9 input from my camera (cutting some from the left and right) to fit 4:3? I really want to do live video with this camera because it looks so much better than the standard def cameras, but everything else we do (graphics, powerpoint, DVD, video) is 4:3 and it looks a little out of place for the live video to be different.

No, its great to be getting feedback. I would much rather people where giving me feedback on how the software should work, it is not always easy to work things out on your own.

To do what you ask would involve me putting in a settings dialog and since I am waorking towards a release I am not happy to be doing that at this stage. Is it not possible to change this on the camera? I will certainly add it to the list for the next version though.

I have had another go at getting the interlacing working with a capture card I have. I discovered that the Live Video settings where not working at all which would have hindered you somewhat.

Here is how I get my capture card working. These instructions apply to V3.2 Beta 17 only!

- add the Live Video Device

- right click on the clip and select "Video Capture Device" from the "Live Video Settings" menu.

- in the deinterlace settings change the deinterlace mode to "BOB".

Now when you run the clip it should be crystal clear with no interlacing.

Hope this works!
