Hi,

I had the previous version of Screen Monkey installed on a windows vista computer last year.  It worked great for children's ministry to organize a kid's service.  I took our song videos and put them into divx format to play in screen monkey.  Since then, I have a new computer (Windows Vista 64 bit) and downloaded the new version of Screen Monkey and the klite codec full pack.  But Screen Monkey only plays the audio portion of the same divx videos now and there is only an X across the screen for the visual.  Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks.

I am thinking this might be a 64bit compatability problem.

Could you send me a copy of the Screen Monkey event log? You can email me at support@screenmonkey.co.uk.

Do the videos play ok in Windows media player? Can you get any other formats of video which are not DivX to play?

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the quick reply... too bad I didn't check back sooner... just now trying things out again.  I have been able to get mpeg video formats to play but then there is no sound.  This is also the same with flash formats and avi.

So, with divx there is sound and no picture but with the others there is a picture and no sound.

I will send you my event log.

Thanks.

Hey...

I think I found a solution to the problem!!!  First, I downloaded a 64 bit vista codec pack.  And then I changed the DVD settings and manually chose a decoder (ffdshow).  Now EVERYTHING WORKS!!!  Hurray!!!

I am so thankful for screen monkey and look forward to exploring more of its options!

Many blessings on you!

Oh... one more thing.  I also chose the overlay option.
