I can't seem to get multi-edit mode to work inside a space. It would be great to be able to select all songs in a space.

How are layers in spaces meant to work? In particular, I can't figure out the logic with the active layer choice made in the main dashboard, the layer a space is assigned to, the layers each clip in a space are assigned to, the active layer in the space, the Layers Dashboard faders, and the Live Monitor layer tabs. If I create a new space, have the main dashboard active layer as 3, the active layer in the space at L1 (the default, unchanged), add a song, and start the space and the song, then the Layers Dashboard fader for Layer 1 fades the song, but the song verses are shown in Layer 3 of the Live Monitor. Displaying a color clip on layer 1 or 2 doesn't obscure the display of that song.

Sometimes spaces seem to get a little corrupted. I have one set to layer 2, whose song clips stay visible even when all the Layers Dashboard faders are faded out. Sometimes the Handle for a new clip is set to -1, and sometimes the first clip in a space won't play when the space is started, even though it is selected - it always jumps straight to the second clip.

Multi-edit does not work in spaces and there is currently no way to select all the clips. I have added this to the list of features for the next version.

The layers in a space are totally seperate to the main layers. Each space has its own set of layers. The active layer in a space applies only to that space and has not link to the main active layer. I realise thiss can be confusing but it can also be very powerful.

In v3.5 the layer opacity for the layer the space is on applies to all the layers within the space. So when you fade the layer with the space out it will fade out the whole space.

The issues with the handle numbers should be fixed when v3.5 is released too.

Thanks for the clarifications, Oliver. I found an interesting (but maybe not new) use for spaces: make a space with a song on L2 and some motion background videos on L1, with the song and first video chosen to start when the space starts. Could be a nice way to do some planning of which videos to use with which songs. In 3.5, would the live monitor for the space's layer still show the song, or how does Screen Monkey choose which of the space's internal layers is shown in the live monitor?

I believe the live monitor for a space show the active layer for that space. I did try adding a seperate live monitor for each space but that got too confusing.
