Whenever I try to play an avi video with cue points set, Windows tells me that Screen Monkey encountered an error and needs to close, and gives me an opportunity to send Microsoft an error report. I can't copy the data in the error report, but this is the Error Signature:

Any ideas?

This kind of error only normally ocurrs if something goes wrong in one of Screen Monkeys external modules.  Other errors are simply logged but Screen Monkey continues to run.

Given that you are trying to use cue points I would suggest that there is a fault with the video codec you are using. I have noticed that certainly with MPEG2 condecs they can be fairly unstable when using the seek capabilities.

You may want to try installing the k-lite codec pack or re-encode the video in a different format. From experience I have found that DivX is the best format to use.

If you wish you can send me a copy of the video to ensure it works correctly in Screen Monkey.

I was playing an avi using the xVid codec, which it seems to play (normally) with no problems.

Re-encoding into divx works fine, so it looks like you're right.
Thanks for that,
thegink
