I'm not sure if this is a bug or is by design, but if you use the command line options, then it loads a new instance of screen monkey rather than controlling the existing session.

It would be cool if you, for example, type

ScreenMonkey.exe /play 1

then it starts playing that clip in the current instance of screen monkey.
