Video & Com plus errors

Help please we open a show in a few days!   We are having trouble fading up or down from a video clip to a jpg or colour black.  If we  run the video in hardware overlay configuration the fades do not work and the computer slows down. If we run in direct x the fades work but the video we get a white screen with a red x at the top of the clip.  Last we are still getting a com + error.  Running xp, service pack 3, 1.5gb ram, 2.88 celron processor.

Re: Video & Com plus errors

The red x issue is normally caused by a problem with the video codecs. Please ensure you have the k-lite codec pack installed and if installed, check your computer for any other codecs that might be conflicting.

Unfortunately though you can only fade video out when using Vista. This capability does not work in XP.

Re: Video & Com plus errors

I faced the same problem too, may I know which windows version would be the best environment for screenmonkey? vista or win7? 32bit or 64 bit?

In my opinion, video fading is the most important function for us.

I suggested to mention that the video fading doesn't work for XP in the starting page.

Thanks!

Re: Video & Com plus errors

Use 32 bit until adobe flash (and perhaps some other software/drivers) starts to support 64 bit.

Some older video cameras could at one time be used for live video through the computer, that is until some driver updates killed it.
