I'm just getting into Screen Monkey and am very impressed. I think it will really improve our projection situation in our church.

For the time being I am just experimenting, using a second monitor before trying it live at church. Most, if not all media types seem to function okay, except I am have alot of difficulty with Ticker Tape.

I can set up a Ticker Tape okay and add items to it, and they will run, but only once. If I stop the Ticker Tape and try to edit it, the edits seem to take okay, but the Ticker Tape will not run again. Upon a further attempt to edit, the edit dialogue box comes up as an empty rectangle. Also, the error logs throws this message "Cannot access a disposed object.  Object Name: 'Cue Ticker Tape' "

I should also mention that this happens on the 2 separate machines on which I have installed SM.

Is there some trick to working with Ticker Tapes that I am missing?

Thanks for your help.

I think this was a bug with some of the pre-3.20 versions but as far as I am aware was fixed in the 3.20 release version. Have you tried downloading the latest version of ScreenMonkey and installing afresh? I've found It's usually worth uninstalling your old version of SM prior to doing an upgrade, to make sure all the libraries get updated properly. Since SM installs/uninstalls so fast this isn't usually a major headache.

If I'm mistaken then I'm thinking of a post-3.20 beta version so apologies. I've definately reported this bug before though and it was definately fixed.

 Thanks Mumfrey.

I do have 3.2 though, so this bug isn't fixed for me. Perhaps I'll try an earlier version and compare results.

By the way, your sig is very funny.

Apologies then, it must have been fixed since the 3.20 release, my mistake.

The workaround for this bug would be to avoid closing the TickerTape cue window (since this is what causes the cue control to be destroyed). The irritation this might cause can be overcome by making use of the new dockable interface style, allowing you to dock the cue window in the main interface somewhere and then just resize it to be very very small. If you subsequently want to open the cue window just quickly un-dock it, make the changes, then dock it again (the window will remember its "docked" dimensions.

Sorry if my explanation is a bit rubbish, but hopefully this should get it working for you. Also note that restarting ScreenMonkey will cause the cue window to be recreated, so if you accidentally close it just restart SM and all will be good :)
