I recently downloaded SM 3.4 and was having some questions how to use the Song Editor. I have read through the forum and found some advice.

I looked up a song on CCLI Song Select and chose the centered presentation, then just copied and pasted the song into the song editor. The editor identified the two verses but lumped the chorus in with the title as a second slide, as far as I can tell from manually viewing the xml output.

I'm looking forward to a help file on this.

We have gone to Windows7 after one of the two computers we were using with Lyricue on Ubuntu crashed.

I am hoping that Screen Monkey can fit the bill, as the others that looked at the program couldn't get their heads around the technical glitches. That program would freeze, perhaps because of a router issue (Dlink) networking the two computers.

There are differences between Windows and Linux in the method of doing some things, and I still find a bit of a learning curve when I do something first in Linux, and then try it in Windows.

Anyway, here is hoping that the program will be straightforward enough. I can just see them having an issue when starting up if they don't turn the monitor and the projector on first!

Blessings,

Rick

There is a help file on this. You click on the question mark in the bottom right of Screen Monkey and then select, "Creating a Show" followed by "Song Clip". This gives you allot of information about creatting and editting song clips.

I spent allot of time trying to make Screen Monkey easy and quick to use so I hope it fits the bill. I will try and help with any questions where I can.

I presume the freezing problem you mention in the post is with the previous software you where using.

"I can just see them having an issue when starting up if they don't turn the monitor and the projector on first!"

Not sure why this would be an issue, surely it just detects the monitor when you connect it?

It may, Windows seems more ready to detect hardware on an ad hoc basis. Linux has in the past been better at detecting on start-up. Time and trial will tell!
