Bibles offline

Hello. My name is Leonardo Puerta, and I'm the multimedia controller of my church. I really love Screen Monkey, especially because it's way more affordable than many of the worship software normally known and recognized. Yesterday I had a session with it, writing some of the songs we sing in our services, and I was astonished when I discovered the "sequence" feature. It's amazing for a software to do that! None of the software I've tested or used has that feature, and it's very confortable to me.

I must say, however, that one of the features I need the most is the Bible. I know you have a plugin that connects to the ESV online, but I'd like to present this request to do a plugin that can open Bibles stored in the hard drive. I don't know if, maybe, this can require downloading an additional *.xml file where the Bible verses be stored, or maybe there's a need to create one, but I'd like to have in this marvelous program a way to introduce verses that are stored in Bibles in the hard drive, especially because we don't have —still— internet connection in our church, and I need to project verses in Spanish.

God bless you all.

Re: Bibles offline

Here's another vote for a Bible projection option.  There are some sites that have Bibles in xml format.  The trick would be writing an interface where you can choose chapter and verse.  OpenSong (@ opensong.org) has an excellent application for this.  I have been using OpenSong for some time but am switching to SM because I like the increased functionality of SM.  I would think that since both programs use xml files for databasing information you could get some great ideas there.

I could quite easily support the OpenSong format but need to investigate the legalities of this. They seem to be third party trannslations without a copyright and so would be OK.

I could not find the editor you mentioned.
