Screen Capture and Record
Hi there.

I trust everything is well.

As you can see from the thread suject, I have two ideas! :D

Firstly, would it be possible to have some sort of screen capture clip? I am not entirely sure of how this would work, but something along the lines of (when working on dual monitor set up) the first monitor is mirrored on the second, and it is this that is projected. That may not make much sence, to be honest I dont think I have thought it through ver well, but I hope you can make sence of it!

Secondly, one particuarly handy feature would be to record the output of the final show. This would make things like producing dvd's a lot easier and everything that is projected on to the screen (whatever it is) can be recorded into an .avi or .mov file.

Thanks for or your support.

Regards,
Scott.

Re: Screen Capture and Record

Have you thought of using a scan converter and a DVD recorder?

Re: Screen Capture and Record

Thanks Sandy, I had not thought of that.

However, as we use a laptop with screenmoney, we are already splitting the VGA output to the second monitor and the projector. As the laptop has no S-Video port this would mean having to split the connection for a third time and spending about £60, is it worth it ?

Re: Screen Capture and Record
I like the idea of a screen capture clip, this is certainly possible and I have added it to my list of things to do. I know that Vista and maybe XP have a specific interface to do this so should be relatively easy.

My thoughts along the record feature is that whilst it sounds a good idea there are other software solutions around which record the screen to avi. None of them do it particularly well (to broadcast quality) and I am not sure I will be able to do much better. My other concern is that this is a very intensive process and trying to do it while playing DVDs / Videos at the same time will just cause problems. I think the suggestion of a DVD recorder is a better option.
