What a great little program
Great program, the help file states you can use live cams, but i couldnt see a way of doing that?

I might be using the program wrong but, i have the control panel on my desktop and the output window on my 2nd vga going to a projector. The control pannel could do with a small window showing what is being outputed, have a look at arkoas. This program has that function.

The ability to see more then one page.

really good program, i can see how it would be of much use for school halls and church's.

Re: What a great little program
I am glad you like the program!

Yes you can use live cameras through the use of a suitable capture device. I was using it with a camera this weekend and used a Belkin USB capture device to get the video into the PC. The reason you could not see any how to do Live Video is that the "Live Video" option, only appears in the menu if you have a suitable capture device connected. If you have a device connected then it will be listed in the menu. There is no limit to the number of Live Inputs you can connect to Screen Monkey.

Please be aware that any capture device must be DirectX/WDM compatible. This aplies to most capture devices but not all.

Sounds like you are using the program connected. I had always intended to add a preview window to Screen Monkey and I hope to have it in Version 2.

I know what you mean about being able to see more than one page at a time. There have been times when I would have found this very usful. I just need to think of a way to do it without cluttering up the UI and also keeping it simple. It is very important to me that ScreenMonkey is kept simple for operators without much training. I am sure I will find a way to do it so again Version 2.

I would add to your list of applications small presentations and Theatre's. I know a number of people who use it for presentations as they find it easier to use than PowerPoint as very little setup is required and you can quickly switch between presentations.

Please keep the good ideas comming!

I forgot to mention that in the current release version you can not change the capture screen resolution, so you are stuck with the default. I have added this ability to the development version and if you need it then I can provide a beta release.

IDEA 1

What about..... Assigning the media to a key on the keyboard. i.e. right click on the media > assign key > "press the keyboard key(s)" > finish

This way a person gains access to media others pages if they need it....

IDEA 2

Effects, I know you can add a effect to the media, but what about a effects pallet/tool bar. i.e below the current window could be a tool bar with a icon for each effect. By clicking an icon then a media, the effect is applied during the transition between the two.

IDEA 3

The venue I work for has an usb link from the projector to the pc. Allowing a presenter to click the projectors remote that in turn changes the power point slide. Basically the remote has a mouse click button.

Now I just tried to make the PowerPoint change on my pc with just the mouse click using SM. But it only works if you click on the pp in the screen monkey. Could you set it up so that when PP is running a mouse click anywhere makes it change?
