As an example, I add 3 clips - colour black, colour red, and a ticker tape with one line of text. I set the ticker tape to show on layer 2.

But whenever I run the ticker tape, I cannot change the clips on layer 1. If I had a colour selected when the ticker tape was started, I would be able to change to the X (desktop) clip, but not to any other clip. They would have a yellow border, but the clip does not show up on the 2nd monitor.

The only way to get it to change is to stop or pause the ticker tape, change the clip, then start the ticker tape again.
